What I’ve Been Up to Lately (2017 – 2023)
I’m based out of St. John’s, NL, where I spend my days in marketing for a global SaaS company called Backlight. Before this, I worked as Paid Media Campaign Manager in Waterloo, ON.
My curiosity in internet marketing and consumer fintech products was the main driver behind my building, buying and selling of finance platforms like The Financial Geek (Blog) and Investing Authority (Instagram).
These ventures provided an outlet for my interests and passions and served as the stepping stone into my next endeavour to help Canadians make better decisions that best align with their personal finance objectives.
Studied Business at MUN in St. John’s, NL (2011 – 16)
During undergrad, a friend and I founded a socially conscious business called Athlete Aid Apparel, where we sold athletic lifestyle clothing and donated a portion of our revenue to supporting underprivileged children looking to get involved in sport.

I’m an SEO Strategist for a Saas based company called Backlight.
As an SEO Strategist at Backlight, a SaaS company, I optimize online content to maximize visibility and attract potential customers.
2 years of professional basketball in the NBL of Canada
In 2017, after graduating from Memorial, I played one season in Windsor, ON, for the Windsor Express. Then in 2019-2020, I played half a season for St. John’s Edge, which was cut short due to COVID.
Wealthsimple Invest #1
Wealthsimple Invest was the first ever fintech product I used. I opened an account in February 2018 and still use it today for my RRSP.
